President Donald Trump will meet Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday to sign a security agreement allowing a larger US military presence on Greenland. The deal could end a standoff over the strategically located, mineral-rich island. Denmark says it respects Greenland's sovereignty and places Arctic security under NATO's collective watch.
