IIT Bombay Panel to Probe Student's Suicide; Professor on Leave

IIT Bombay has formed a 10-member committee to investigate the suicide of B.Tech student Sahil Wakode, found dead in his hostel on September 18. Professor Suryanarayan Doolla, accused of abetment and caste discrimination, has been sent on leave. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch is also investigating; the institute apologised for earlier claims linking the death to exam cheating.
