The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it expected Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to decide expeditiously on a plea seeking disqualification of 20 rebel TMC MPs who joined the NCPI. The bench, led by CJI Surya Kant, said it could not direct the Speaker but reminded him of the need for early adjudication. The rebel MPs will file replies within four weeks.
