GAO Finds ICE Wasted Millions on Detention Expansion

A US Government Accountability Office report says ICE wasted tens of millions of dollars rapidly expanding detention capacity under Trump's mass deportation agenda. Misspending includes nearly $3m on unused Guantánamo Bay tents, $20m on empty warehouses now being sold, and excessive rates at the shuttered Alligator Alcatraz. The GAO warns of further waste without a strategic plan.
