South Africa defeated Australia by 67 runs in the opening ODI in Durban, bowling the visitors out for 230 after posting 297-8. Matthew Breetzke hit 112 and Marco Jansen 75 off 59 balls, while Keshav Maharaj took 4-20. Australia captain Mitch Marsh's 60 was not enough as his side collapsed, losing their last six wickets for 54 runs.
