Bengal to Allow Land Use Change for Leased Plots with Job Targets

West Bengal will permit changes to land use on government-leased plots if companies meet employment targets, Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal said. Projects creating 100 jobs per acre will get priority. Of 250 acres allotted to 42 firms in the Silicon Valley hub, only five are operational. The Adani hospital on part of the land may employ 30,000-40,000 directly in 4-5 years.
