Baranica Elangovan became India's first Asian Games pole vault medallist, taking bronze in the women's final at Aichi-Nagoya with a best clearance of 4.15m. She shared the podium with Polina Ivanova after both failed at 4.25m. Japan's Misaki Morota won gold with 4.55m, while China's Chunge Niu took silver.
