India could reach its Rs 50,000 crore defence export target by 2028, two years ahead of the 2030 deadline, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said. Exports hit a record Rs 38,424 crore in 2025-26, up from Rs 686 crore in 2013-14. India offers missiles at nearly one-fourth the price of foreign OEMs.
