Karnataka Deputy CM Urges Scrapping of SIR Process

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Friday called for the current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to be scrapped and redone, saying it should not be used for political purposes. He also demanded the Centre clarify whether advance financial assistance was released to other states, and backed opposition calls for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
