Lawyers Seek Action Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar Over SIR Drive

Supreme Court lawyers have moved against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over his alleged unilateral decisions on the special intensive revision of electoral rolls. One petition seeks his criminal prosecution; another has asked the attorney general to allow a contempt case. The Election Commission maintains all SIR decisions were taken unanimously by Kumar and fellow commissioners S S Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.
