Guwahati student death: father alleges gang rape, companion claims suicide

Gauhati University student Nimisha Thakuria, 22, was found dead at a Guwahati homestay after calling her mother at 2 am saying she was beaten. Police detained Ashiq Ali, 26, who claims she died by suicide; her father alleges gang rape and murder. Post-mortem findings are not public and no sexual assault has been confirmed.
