Delhi HC: Muslim Marriage No Shield Under POCSO

The Delhi High Court has ruled that a marriage claimed valid under Muslim personal law cannot shield an adult from prosecution under the POCSO Act for sexual relations with a wife under 18. Justice Sanjeev Narula refused to quash an FIR against a man who married a 16-year-old, stating that the statutory age of 18 cannot be replaced by the concept of puberty.
