Deadly Nepal Floods Devastate Peak Tourist Season

Catastrophic floods in Nepal last month killed more than 1,450 people and destroyed key highways, pushing tourists away as the September-November peak season begins. Tourism accounts for nearly 8 percent of GDP and employs over a million people, many of whom now face cancelled bookings and lost income. Even areas untouched by the flooding are reporting steep drops in business.
