Coforge appoints Akhil Gupta chairman after board turmoil

Coforge has appointed former Bharti Enterprises vice-chairman Akhil Kumar Gupta as chairperson and non-executive independent director for five years, effective Tuesday, subject to shareholder approval. The move follows weeks of boardroom turmoil sparked by former chairman O P Bhatt's September 9 resignation after an internal audit found he withheld a board evaluation that gave his own performance the lowest rating.
