Taiwan in Continuous Talks with US on Arms Sales

Taiwan's defence minister said on Tuesday that Taiwan is in continuous talks with the United States about arms sales and has received reassurances that US policy on Taiwan has not changed since the Washington summit between US and Chinese leaders. The US is Taiwan's most important international backer and weapons supplier despite lacking formal diplomatic ties. Taiwan media reported that the first two F-16V fighters are in Hawaii awaiting delivery, though the minister declined to comment on the schedule.
