US Stocks Cut Losses as Fed Rate Fears Ease, Oil Drops

US stocks ended lower Tuesday but recovered sharply from session lows, with the Dow down 120 points after falling over 200. New York Fed President John Williams said one more rate hike may be appropriate but not urgent, cutting October hike odds to 50%. Falling crude prices and easing supply fears also supported markets.
