Hungary court cuts German activist's sentence to seven years

A Hungarian appeals court reduced German anti-fascist activist Maja T.'s sentence from eight to seven years for assaults on participants of a far-right rally in Budapest in February 2023. Prosecutors had sought 14 years, while the defense pushed for acquittal. Supporters gathered outside the Budapest court demanding release.
