In December 2011, Stephen and Tabitha King donated $120,000 through their foundation to a Maine home-heating fundraiser run by their radio station. The campaign raised $241,820, far exceeding its goal as residents faced higher heating costs and reduced federal aid. The funds helped low-income and older households pay for fuel and electricity during winter.
