US households to pay $6,500 more for energy by 2040

A new Energy Innovation analysis says federal policy changes since President Trump returned to office will cost households in the contiguous US an average of $6,500 more for energy cumulatively through 2040. Five states face roughly $9,000 increases. The think tank cites canceled clean energy projects, weakened efficiency rules and rollbacks of environmental regulations.
