Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Frank Strada will resign later this month after death row inmate Christa Pike survived two lethal injections of pentobarbital on Wednesday. Governor Bill Lee announced the resignation on Saturday and ordered an independent review. Pike remains unconscious on a ventilator in a Nashville hospital as doctors try to clear the drugs from her system.
