Keralam Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Sunday ordered a Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau probe into Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities during his tenure as the state's PWD Secretary in 2006. The case concerns the alleged suicide of Malaysian civil engineer Lee See Been, linked to the PATI-BEL consortium upgrading MC Road. The fresh inquiry follows allegations that the original 2006 preliminary inquiry was derailed by external pressure.
