Kerala Orders Vigilance Probe Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar Over 2006 Case

Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered a Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau probe into Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities during his tenure as the state's PWD Secretary in 2006. The case involves the suicide of Malaysian engineer Lee See Been, who was associated with the PATI-BEL consortium on the KSTP road project and whose note reportedly named Kumar. The fresh inquiry follows allegations that the original 2006 preliminary investigation was derailed by external pressure.
