Shaktikanta Das, Principal Secretary-2 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said India is within striking distance of 8 per cent growth after a decade of reforms strengthened its economic buffers. Real GDP grew 7.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2026-27, with the latest four quarters averaging above 8 per cent. Allianz Research expects growth to moderate to 7.5 per cent in 2026.
