Yemen's Saudi-backed government launches offensive to retake Houthi-held territory

Yemen's Saudi-backed government has announced a military operation to retake all Houthi-held territory, as the Iran-backed group advances near Taiz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Presidential council head Rashad al-Alimi said forces would restore state authority nationwide. The Houthis recently seized the strategic strait and reportedly cut a key supply route to Taiz.
