Only 15% of Indian workers use public transport: NSO survey

India's first National Household Travel Survey by the NSO finds just 15% of workers use public transport, while 46% depend on two-wheelers and cars. Walking accounts for 28.3% of commutes, higher in rural areas. Workers average 25 minutes and Rs 785 a month on commuting, with men spending far more than women.
