The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Allahabad High Court Chief Justice to act expeditiously on allegations against the trial judge in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. The UP government said it will replace the public prosecutor. The bench, monitoring the trial, was told 86 of 131 witnesses have been examined. Further hearing is posted after two weeks.
