Poland is constructing its first offshore gas terminal in Gdańsk, named 'Solidarity', to enhance energy security after cutting Russian gas imports. The floating storage and regasification unit will add 6.1bn cubic metres of annual capacity when operational in early 2028, with a second vessel planned for 2030. The project aims to make Poland a gas hub for eastern Europe and strengthen EU resilience against Russian aggression.
