Indian Households Expect Inflation to Hit 10% in a Year

Indian households now expect inflation to reach 10% over the next year, up from 9.4% in July, according to the RBI's September 2026 survey. The three-month expectation rose to 9.9%, while current inflation perception climbed to 8.4%. The findings come after the RBI raised the repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50% on October 7 to contain inflation.
