42 Retired Judges Back EC, Call SIR Lawful

Forty-two retired judges, including former Supreme Court and high court judges, have defended the Election Commission and backed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as lawful. In an open letter, they said constitutional bodies face a 'sustained attack' and a 'calculated campaign' without evidence. The opposition INDIA bloc has protested for three days, accusing the CEC of manipulating rolls to benefit the BJP.
