A June 2023 photograph of 15 Gaza schoolgirls and their maths teacher, Maha Taha, at Muscat Secondary School in Nuseirat captured their hopes before the war. Three years on, one girl has been killed in an Israeli air strike, four have left Gaza, and the rest are displaced with their education interrupted. Three reunited at the school, which now shelters displaced families.
