TVK Sweeps Maduranthakam, Dharapuram Bypolls; Vijay Hails Verdict

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won both the Maduranthakam and Dharapuram Assembly by-elections, with Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay calling the result a historic rejection of money-power politics. The reserved SC seats fell vacant after AIADMK legislators Maragatham Kumaravel and P Sathyabhama resigned to join TVK; both re-contested on the whistle symbol and retained their seats by significant margins over DMK and AIADMK rivals.
