Jawaharlal Nehru University dismissed Congress Lok Sabha MP and professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam on October 9 after its Internal Committee found him guilty of sexually harassing female students. Vice-Chancellor Santishree D Pandit signed the order imposing dismissal with immediate effect under university service rules. Akoijam, who represents Inner Manipur, had rejected the complaints as unverified and unlawful.
