Ethiopia has accused Eritrea of an "all-out invasion" in a letter to the UN Security Council, claiming Eritrean troops advanced up to 60km into Tigray. Eritrea denies the claim, calling it an "unprovoked war of aggression" and accusing Addis Ababa of seeking to seize its Red Sea port of Assab. Diplomatic ties have collapsed.
