US Sanctions ICC, Court Calls It Assault on Rule of Law

The Trump administration imposed sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court, banning US transactions with the tribunal and freezing its assets. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the move defends US sovereignty against a "rogue court." The ICC called it an assault on international law and vowed not to be deterred. The UK and other member states strongly disagreed.
