Starlink, Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio-SES have licences but still need security clearance before launching satellite internet in India. The Home Ministry will assess compliance with 20 requirements issued in May 2025, including routing Indian traffic through domestic gateways, real-time user-terminal tracking and border-area restrictions. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia confirmed the pending clearances on October 9.
