Pakistan Imposes Emergency Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistan's federal government has taken direct control of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, imposing emergency and governor's rule after President Asif Ali Zardari signed a proclamation on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's advice. The move follows failed talks with jailed former PM Imran Khan's PTI party, which governs the province. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has been detained.
