Indian Army Launches 'Bharat Rice' to Improve Troop Rations

The Indian Army on Monday launched 'Bharat Rice', a superior-quality rice initiative to improve rations for defence personnel. Spearheaded by the Directorate General of Supplies and Transport, the rice will be milled to defence specifications and supplied through NAFED in 2026-27. An MoU with FCI will ensure direct delivery to Army Supply Depots, including remote areas of Ladakh and the North East.
