Two Maldivian flydubai pilots arrested over alleged hijack plot

Two Maldivian pilots employed by flydubai were arrested in the UAE on October 3 in connection with an alleged attempt by Omani co-pilot Hammam al-Hammami to hijack and crash a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight on September 30. Indian Captain Smit Machchhar was injured while foiling the plot, leading to an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The arrests widen the UAE investigation.
