Retired decorator's Pokémon card collection sells for £1.56m

A retired decorator from Woking has sold his Pokémon card collection for £1.56m at Ewbank's auction house in Surrey. The 42 sealed sets, stored in his attic for 15 years, included a Charizard card that helped a single lot fetch £100,000. Ewbank's called it the UK's most valuable trading cards auction and possibly a European record.
