Keisha Lance Bottoms Elected Georgia's First Black Woman Governor

Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms won Georgia's governor race on Tuesday, becoming the first Black woman elected governor in U.S. history. The former Atlanta mayor defeated billionaire Republican Rick Jackson despite a steep spending gap, with Jackson self-funding over $200 million. She is the first Democrat to win the Georgia governorship since 1998 and succeeds term-limited Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.
