Democrats sweep Texas, flipping Senate seat and governor's mansion

Democrat James Talarico defeated Republican Ken Paxton to flip a U.S. Senate seat in Texas, ending more than 30 years without a statewide Democratic victory. Gina Hinojosa ousted Gov. Greg Abbott to become Texas' first Latina governor, as Democrats also won lieutenant governor and attorney general amid voter frustration over high prices and government corruption.
