The NBA has confirmed it removed Rwanda's army-backed APR club from the Basketball Africa League because of US sanctions imposed on the Rwandan military in March over its role in the DR Congo conflict. The NBA said APR will stay barred while sanctions remain. The league faces pressure from US senators over its partnership with Rwanda.
