US stocks rallied sharply on Wednesday after Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress in the midterm elections. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped about 1,569 points, or 3%, its biggest post-midterm gain since 1982, while the S&P 500 rose 1.58% and the Nasdaq 1.44%.
