Kerala-born Nithya Raman has defeated incumbent Karen Bass to become Los Angeles' first Asian-American mayor, according to Decision Desk HQ. Raman took 51.1% of the vote to Bass's 48.33% and will serve as the city's 44th mayor and its second elected woman. She will oversee preparations for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
