Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his retirement from international football, ending a 23-year Portugal career in which he scored a record 146 goals in 234 appearances. The 41-year-old confirmed the decision in an Instagram video, saying he would "hand back the number 7 shirt." His exit followed a falling-out with coach Jorge Jesus after being left out of the squad.
