European stocks fall 1% as tech selloff deepens

European shares slid 1% on Friday, with the STOXX 600 down 1.6% in its worst session since July, as semiconductor and software stocks tracked a sharp Wall Street selloff. The Nasdaq plunged 5.52% overnight into correction territory after Democratic midterm wins raised fears of tighter antitrust and AI oversight. Despite the drop, the STOXX 600 remains up over 10% year-to-date, ahead of the S&P 500.
