Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay accused the previous DMK government of corruption in book purchases for Coimbatore's Periyar Arivalayam, citing allegations by Professor Perumal Murugan, who served on the recommending committee. Vijay said a government order dated 5 November 2025 was issued under the DMK and alleged irregularities across municipal administration, TASMAC, tenders and school education.
