Sonia Gandhi Calls Emergency a Mistake in New Memoir

Ahead of her memoir Belonging: A Journey of Love, Sonia Gandhi has called the Emergency a mistake and said Indira Gandhi came to feel the same. She told The Guardian that keeping Sanjay Gandhi in check could have prevented much of the damage, and accused the Modi government of harming India's democracy and institutions.
