Swan wins Commonwealth Games' first gold by fraction

England's Mark Swan claimed the first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games in the men's lightweight para powerlifting, edging Nigeria's Roland Ezuruike by a fraction of a point after both athletes tied on 153.9 points. Swan's 222kg lift proved superior to the second decimal place. Malaysia's Bonnie Bunyau Gustin took bronze. Swan, a silver medalist in Birmingham, now aims for Paralympic gold and a world record.
