Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti slam J&K crackdown

Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti condemned the indiscriminate detentions and house demolitions in Jammu and Kashmir after a police officer's killing. Abdullah warned such actions risk deepening resentment and noted the Supreme Court has barred summary action. He stressed terrorism cannot be defeated without public support. Mufti called the crackdown collective punishment. Security forces detained around 2,800 suspects and demolished homes of two Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders.
